Dur Hospitality a leader in CSR Initiatives

Dur Hospitality is a publicly listed company specialized in the hospitality sector in Saudi Arabia. In cooperation with the Charity Committee for Orphans Care (Ensan) and Tadweer Recycling Organization, Athar contributed to the initiative of “Sponsor an Orphan with Your Old Devices” by collecting and recycling 520 kilograms of electrical and electronic waste from the company’s headquarters and its facilities in Riyadh.

Athar in partnership with Calling Chinese Organization, hosted 128 Chinese Muslims, as part of Dur Hospitality’s CSR initiatives. They were hosted at Makarem Umm Al Qura Hotel with great care and excellent services

In cooperation with the Diplomatic Quarter General Authority and Zahra Association, the social responsibility committee (Athar) organized the breast cancer awareness campaign “Beyond Pink”, as part of Dur Hospitality’s CSR efforts aiming to support a wider national campaign, promoting the importance of early detection and encouraging women to pursue a healthy lifestyle. Women of all ages enthusiastically participated in the campaign’s various sports and awareness components.

3rd Linens for Livelihood:

For the third year in a row, Social Responsibility Committee (Athar) has collected more than 4200 pieces of linens, towels, bed sheets, pillows, curtains and bath mats from Marriott Riyadh Airport Hotel along with Makarem Ajyad Makkah Hotel, and donated them to charity.

Blood Donation Campaign:

The social responsibility committee (Athar) organized the annual blood donation campaign (Safe a Life, Donate Blood) at Dur Hospitality headquarters, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. The campaign aims to support the blood bank in King Saud Medical City, and has received 60 donors from Dur Hospitality, Courtyard Marriott Diplomatic Quarter and Riyadh Marriott Hotel Diplomatic Quarter employees.

Silverware and Glassware Donation:

Social Responsibility Committee (Athar) collected 4420 pieces of used kitchenware (chinaware, glassware, silverware and equipment) that is worth 61,000 SAR from Makarem Ajyad Makkah Hotel to charity.

Down Syndrome Charitable Association (DSCA) Iftar:

During the Holy month of Ramadan, Social Responsibly Committee (Athar) invited 100 children from Down Syndrome Charitable Association (DSCA) with their families for Iftar, and hosted them in Crowne Plaza Riyadh Palace Hotel.

Kiswat Al-Eid:

Social Responsibility Committee (Athar) activated “Kiswat Al Eid” initiative to allow all employees to contribute to spreading joy and happiness to the families by donating 122 KG of new and used clothes before Eid Al Fitr.

Mosques Cleaning:

A few days prior to the fasting month of Ramadan, Social Responsibility Committee (Athar) cleaned 5 of Diplomatic Quarter’s mosques to welcome the holy month and to ensure that worshippers pray in a clean and comfortable environment.

Orphans Iftar:

During Ramadan, Social Responsibility Committee (Athar) hosted 150 orphans from Charity Committee for Orphans Care (Ensan) for Iftar in Dur’s properties in Tabuk, Riyadh, Jeddah and Makkah.

Hosting DSCA Kids on the National Day:

Dur Hospitality celebrated the Saudi National Day with 48 children and their families from Down Syndrome Charitable Association DSCA at Riyadh Marriott Hotel. The children enjoyed recreational activities and various corners as well as gifts from the company.

Partnership agreement with the College of Business Administration:

in order to support young cadres, Dur Hospitality signed a partnership agreement with the College of Business Administration at Umm al-Qura University aims to open greater horizons for students who always make positive impressions and clear fingerprints in their workplace. The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr. Sultan Al-Buqami, Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Faisal Al-Sharif, Director General of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage in Makkah and a number of government officials.

Participation in Graduate Recruitment Forums:

Moved by its keenness to contribute to the localization of the accommodation sector, Dur Hospitality participated in the 25th recruitment forum, which was organized by Riyadh College of Technology. The forum attracted and nominated a number of national cadres of graduates and job seekers to fill some jobs in the company’s properties in the central region.

Dur also participated in the recruitment forum organized by the Technical College in Makkah, Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Human Resources Development Fund “Hadaf”, Labor Office, Taqat Center and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage in order to localize the professions of the tourism accommodation

Global Biking Initiative:

Global Biking Initiative Dur Hospitality extended its partnership and sponsored the “” organized by the Saudi cyclist’s ride-2017 from Riyadh to al Qassim on the Arab orphan day. Under the moto of cycle for the orphans, raise awareness and get fit; the cyclists rode over 3 days to cover nearly 400km. A challenge like this is not just about distances covered and start and finish points, the bike ride is about group effort, friendship, spirit and more importantly raising funds for The Charity Committee for Orphans Welfare – Insan.
