Yemen participates in the World Conference on Communication Development in Rwanda

The Republic of Yemen participates in the World Conference on the Development of Telecommunications, held today in the capital of Rwanda with a delegation headed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Najib Al-Awj.

The Conference, which was attended by the President of the Republic of Rwanda, the Secretary-General of the United Nations and international representatives and members, discusses a number of topics relating to technical developments in communications and international developments, ways to develop multiple communication networks, the most important of which are high-speed Internet networks, how to achieve a fruitful and successful international relationship, as well as the exchange of experiences and the presentation of experiences to States in this area.

The World Conference on Communication Development (WTDC), focusing on linking those who are not linked to sustainable development, aims to adopt a global road map for digital transformation and ultimately help put meaningful access to digital technologies in the hands of billions of people from all over the world.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology gave a brief and brief account of Yemen ' s vision and strategy in improving and developing the Internet network and benefiting from joint cooperation in Arab and international events. Dr. Al Aouj also met with the Rwandan Minister of Infrastructure and shared with him their inspiring experience of development.

During the events of the Conference, our country nominated the engineering brothers Wael Tormom and Engineer Adelros for membership in the committees working on the Conference.

This historic conference is dedicated to advancing digital transformation in line with the global sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.

The Conference also represents an opportunity, once in every generation, for the international community to formulate bold and innovative strategies focused on digital technology to help break the chronic barriers to social and economic development, as the COVID-19 pandemic has shed sharp light on the importance of Internet access and communication to enhance economic resilience and ensure social integration everywhere.

He was accompanied by the Director-General of the Public Telecommunications Corporation, Engineer Wael Trumum, and Chief Executive of Human Resources and Administration of the Teleman Engineer/Edros Baabbad.
