The General Bank of Mauritania is one of the parties actively involved in social life in Mauritania, through the Bouamato Foundation, which is strongly active in combating poverty and fragility, improving living and health conditions, and achieving well-being for all segments of Mauritanian society.

In addition, the Bouamatou Foundation focuses on combating blindness and visual impairment at the national level, and facilitating the access of low-income Mauritanians to ophthalmology services.

The Foundation’s efforts also include other initiatives at the local and national levels through donations, grants, charitable activities and intervention in the following areas:

Education: Providing support for education programs in remote areas at the national level

Improving living conditions: supporting initiatives that enable the co-construction of local development
