Dubai Culture Launches CSR Initiative to Support Children of Incarcerated Mothers Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts & heritage, has launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to support children of incarcerated mothers. The initiative is a continuation of the CSR campaigns launched during the holy month of Ramadan and is being managed by the Authority’s internal CSR team. The initiative saw the team collaborating with the Dubai Police General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions to distribute Eid clothing to the inmates’ children. The aim of the project was to strengthen cooperation between the Authority and other government institutions in order to uphold the charitable values of this important time of year, support the vision of the UAE’s Year of Giving  initiative, and encourage employees to participate in CSR initiatives. Khawla Essa Alyassi, Head of Dubai Culture’s CSR team, commented: “This initiative is fully aligned with the UAE’s Year of Giving , which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Our wise leadership has dedicated  to giving back, and our initiative aimed to embrace this directive by doing good for our society and spreading happiness among children of incarcerated mothers.” The initiative contributed to enriching the lives of children who were born in prison; by making the children feel cherished and loved, Dubai Culture hoped to improve their perception of people outside of prison in preparation for the release of their mothers. The Authority’s team played an important role in ensuring the success of the campaign, with a number of them volunteering to distribute Eid gifts to the children with members of the committee. Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
