مذكرة تفاهم بين جيبوتي والسعودية للتعاون البيئي

His Excellency the Minister of Urban Development, Environment, and Tourism in the Republic of Djibouti, Mohamed Abdulkader Moussa, signed a memorandum of understanding with His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, for cooperation in the areas of conservation of terrestrial and marine environments, biodiversity, sustainable development of pastures and forests, and combating desertification.

The memorandum aims to enhance efforts, exchange experiences between the two parties, facilitate visits between specialists and experts from both sides, hold meetings, conferences, seminars, and capacity-building activities, as well as affirming unified positions in international forums, establishing mechanisms for implementation through communication between relevant institutions on environmental issues, biodiversity, sustainable development of pastures and forests, combating desertification, and working on developing ways of cooperation between the two ministries to serve common interests.

Minister Mohamed Moussa stated that the signing of the memorandum falls within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Djibouti and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various fields, as a manifestation of the strong partnership and historical fraternal relations between the two sisterly countries in accordance with the wise visions of the leaderships of both countries.

The signing of the memorandum was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom, Diaa Eddin Saeed Bamakhrama, and a number of Saudi officials.

Minister Mohamed Moussa began his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by participating in the Arab Tourism Ministers Conference, which concluded on December 23 in Al-Ahsa city, in the eastern region of the Kingdom, the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2019, where the Republic of Djibouti was elected as a member of the executive committee.
