Qatar University, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the CSR Network, is supervising the production of the annual CSR report on a national level. The Report is prepared under the guidance of the College of Business and Economics- Qatar University, with contributions from the college’s students. It is an academic report that documents the achievements of the national organizations in CSR, and monitors the progress in social development and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Report committee selects the CSR person of the year from a number of inspiring CSR leaders. H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiah was selected as the CSR person for 2014. The report honors as well the leading companies in CSR.
Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham, President of Qatar University, said: “Qatar University has always played a leading role in developing the CSR culture in the country. The CSR report is one of the University’s major platforms to enhance the awareness about this culture on the highest level. The launching ceremony that is hosted by the university comes as one of our activities that is creating a practical communication environment between the participating companies and the students, in order to identify the common CSR targets and the areas that the students can contribute in to serve the community in general”.
